Avatar ranked among nation’s top builders in two polls

Fueled by 2006 residential closings and revenues, Coral Gables-based builder-developer Avatar Holdings Inc. (Avatar) was ranked among the country’s top 50 homebuilders in two national magazine polls.

The parent company of Avatar Properties Inc., which operates home building divisions in Central Florida, Tampa, and Rio Rico, Arizona, Avatar was ranked 41^st in Builder magazine’s Builder 100 poll, and 47^th in Professional Builder magazine’s Giant 400 poll. The two Florida divisions accounted for the majority of Avatar’s 2,122 new residential closings in 2006.

Builder ranked Avatar 41^st based on 2006 residential closings and gross revenues of $835 million, while Professional Builder ranked Avatar 47^th based on 2006 residential closings and residential revenues of nearly $666.6 million.

In Central Florida Avatar Properties is currently developing the master-planned communities of Poinciana^SM, Solivita®, Bellalago^SM and the Isles of Bellalago^SM.

Poinciana^SM, which covers 47,000 acres in northwest Osceola and northeast Polk counties, includes the company’s award-winning active adult community of Solivita®.
