Blackton, Inc. establishes a manufacturing plant in Poinciana

Blackton, Inc., an Orlando-based distributor of roofing and flooring, has

set up a 10,000 sq. ft. manufacturing plant for bathroom vanity countertops in a 180,000 sq. ft. warehouse it leases and operates in Poinciana Office & Industrial Park.

The building at 1901 S. Poinciana Blvd. employs 40 warehouse, delivery and administrative staff for its roofing and flooring operations, while the manufacturing plant employs nine workers and plans to add another 10, according to Matt Beardman, general manager for Blackton, Inc. which has been serving homebuilders, homebuyers and commercial developers throughout Central Florida since 1954.

Blackton originally set up roofing and flooring operations in Poinciana^SM to better serve its Kissimmee and Poinciana^SM customers, including Avatar Properties Inc. and its award-winning active adult community of Solivita®.

The 1,545-acre Poinciana Office & Industrial Park is being developed by Avatar, the primary homebuilder in the 47,000-acre master-planned community of Poinciana^SM which is located in northwest Osceola and northeast Polk counties.
